Hidden within Equivalent Exchange is a small night market where artists, makers, and craftspeople share work that feels at home in the world we've created.
Rather than rows of vendors, the market is thoughtfully curated to feel like a cabinet of curiosities. It’s filled with pieces guests discover as they explore the Exchange. Every maker contributes to the atmosphere, and every collection becomes part of the story.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We're searching for artists and makers whose work complements the spirit of Equivalent Exchange. While every collection is unique, we're especially interested in work inspired by alchemy, dark academia, celestial themes, botanicals, folklore, handcrafted processes, and beautifully made everyday objects.
Examples include jewelry, ceramics, illustration, candles, prints, paper goods, books, home décor, wearable art, leather goods, woodworking, curiosities, textiles, and other thoughtfully crafted creations.
Our goal isn't simply to fill shelves. We curate each residency to create a cohesive experience while showcasing a diverse group of makers and artistic styles.
THE NIGHT MARKET
The Night Market features four illuminated display cabinets, each with four shelves, allowing every participating maker to present a carefully curated collection. Original artwork may also be displayed throughout the venue on designated gallery walls, creating additional opportunities for painters, photographers, illustrators, and other two-dimensional artists.
The market is intentionally designed to evolve throughout the residency. Collections are refreshed regularly, featured makers rotate, and returning guests always have something new to discover.
HOW IT WORKS
Equivalent Exchange operates the Night Market on a curated consignment model.
There are no booth fees, display fees, or weekly rental costs. Instead, we succeed together.
Equivalent Exchange retains a 20% commission on completed sales to cover payment processing, sales staffing, merchandising, inventory management, customer service, and marketing. The remaining 80% is paid directly to the maker.
All sales are processed through the Equivalent Exchange Square point-of-sale system. Each participating maker receives their own secure Square login, allowing them to monitor inventory, track sales in real time, and review product performance throughout the residency.
REFRESHING THE EXCHANGE
The Night Market is designed to change over time.
Rather than remaining static, participating makers should be prepared to refresh or rotate their collections each week.This may be as simple as restocking popular pieces, introducing new work, or updating seasonal collections. As featured makers rotate throughout the residency, every visit to the Exchange offers guests something new to discover.

FEATURED MAKER OF THE WEEK
Each week, one participating artist or maker will be selected as the Featured Maker of the Week.
Featured Makers receive additional visibility throughout the residency, including a dedicated spotlight within the Night Market, a featured story on our website and social media, and opportunities to highlight the inspiration behind their work. Whenever possible, we'll also introduce guests to your creative process through behind-the-scenes content, interviews, or special demonstrations.
Our goal is to help guests connect not only with the objects they discover, but also with the people who created them.
WHY PARTICIPATE?
Equivalent Exchange is more than a retail opportunity. It's an immersive hospitality experience where guests come specifically to slow down, explore, and discover.
Your work becomes part of that experience.
As a participating maker, you'll receive a professionally curated display within the Night Market, dedicated illuminated shelving or gallery space, exposure to guests visiting for cocktails, coffee, tea, and immersive events, promotion through our marketing channels whenever possible, and real-time inventory tracking through Square, all without paying upfront booth or display fees.
WHO IS A GOOD FIT?
We're looking for makers who create original, handcrafted, or thoughtfully designed work, produce inventory consistently enough to support a rotating display, value presentation and storytelling, enjoy collaborating with other artists and small businesses, and want to become part of an immersive guest experience.
